Zero to Two Kids in 5.5 hours

Wow! So much has happened since last Wednesday!

Tuesday afternoon at 1:45pm, we got a call from our Agency to foster two little girls, 5 months and 20 months. Duffy and I talked about it for awhile and then decided to say yes. When Duffy called the agency back, they said they’d already placed the girls with another family. We were really disappointed, but knew that God was in control.

Wednesday morning at 9am, Duffy got a call back from the agency. The placement they’d made for the girls the day before hadn’t worked and they wanted to know if we still wanted them - YES! We took the day off work and scrambled to get everything together. They arrived at our home around 1pm with the caseworkers.

“Lovie” is 20 months and a precious package of energy, personality, and spunk. Her 2 previous homes said she was uncontrollable and full of tantrums, biting, and hostility. We still haven’t seen any sign of the child they described. She is still a little scared of Chloe, our puppy, but loves to wave at her and make doggie noises “Woo-Woo”. She’s pretty verbal for her age and has a few words she can say…she keeps surprising us with new words everyday. Sunday she said a full sentence, “DD, I want my Barbie.”

“Bumblebee” is 5 months old and a total love-bug. She’s very content to sit in her chair and watch the goings on. She loves holding her sister’s hand, and gently tapping you on the arm if you’re holding her. She hates laying on her back - and will flip over on her tummy as soon as she can. I don’t think she’s had as much tummy time as she should have, so we’re working with her to strengthen her neck and arms.
