Romans 12:15

by: Duffy

"Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn."

This verse is simply about love, loving your neighbor as yourself. This verse really deals with loving unconditionally; it's easy to love someone when life is all good, mourning with someone who hurts isn't always convenient or fun. We must identify both with the sacrifices that lead to success and the failures and disappointments that cause us to cry for us to truly get this and experience this command to the fullest. I think it involves the investment of time, effort, and the leading of the Holy Spirit in our lives.

As God's hands and feet, let's pray that he illuminates our minds to see the opportunity to love our wives with this unselfish, compassionate love. Remember, we are his primary expression of love to our wives. May we not be callous to their needs to be heard, loved, and valued.

To love our families and coworkers (yes, even the ones we secretly hate) as only God in us can enable us love in faith, and to those we don't know, the starving children in our city or in the bush of Africa. As they hunger for food may our hearts melt for them and spring us into action to be conduits of salvation for them for Christ both spiritually and physically.

Let’s rejoice as God answers our prayers! To Him who can do exceedingly, abundantly more than we could dream or imagine, we are grateful for this and all our other blessings. Let’s also mourn with those among us who are struggling with sin, sickness, and broken hearts.
