Faith for Healing

by: Duffy

"Therefore I say to you, all things for which you pray and ask, believe that you have received them, and they shall be granted you." Mark 11:24

Maola is an 86 year old woman in the hood, who has a 90 year old brother who has poor vision due to cataracts. She prays every night for her brother to be healed. Every morning when she wakes up she ask her brother, “Henry, Can you see?”

Wow, what faith! I was recently at the U2 concert. Josh, a Prestonwood minister friend of mine, and I went down from our 10th to last row in the upper deck to find better seats. We said a prayer on the way down for God to bless us with better seats. (selfish I know, but it’s a good story) When we got to our 11th row seats Josh said, “There’s no way we can stay here, these seats are too good.” I told him about Maola’s faith in her prayers. I said you must believe. We watched the concert from the 11th row and the 10th was open so we could not have to stand the whole time.

I’ve learned a spiritual lesson from Maola, to believe that prayers actually make it to the thrown room of Heaven not just hit the ceiling and fall down back down. God hears our prayers. I’ve been praying for my mentor Mike for 2 plus months for God to heal his lung cancer. God has answered by reducing his tumors 65% in 2 months. I ask Mike everyday, “Mike are you healed”.

Sometimes our prayers aren’t answered immediately; but do you and I have the faith to believe God to answer your prayers? Let's start believing God for more and watch what he can do. He’s a God who can…
