Well, December has blown by in a hurry! Duffy and I celebrated our 2 year anniversary on December 15th with the delivery of our very own baby grand piano. Duffy loves playing it and Mr.Kitty loves sleeping on it. The best present came in the form of an email...when our adoption caseworker announced that our home was officially licensed and ready to receive children.
That same weekend, Charis' brother, John Forrest graduated from The University of North Texas with a BA of Business Administration in Accounting. YAY!
The next day, Charis & Duffy flew out (at 6am) for North Carolina. Evidently our plane sat on the runway for an hour before take-off, but we were so tired that we fell asleep and didn't notice until we landed in NC...an hour late.
Charis hadn't been feeling well that weekend, and by the time they reached Duffy's Mom's house...she knew she had a full-blown sinus infection. Even though she spent the rest of the week on the couch, Duffy had a great time visiting with family.
The plan was to head home EARLY on Christmas morning to be able to eat lunch with Charis' family. They had all driven to Dallas and spent Christmas Eve in Charis' and Duffy's house. Due to the snow...it didn't happen that way at all. Charis and Duffy didn't make it back to Texas until 11pm. Turns out it's still fun to open presents...even after midnight.
Chloe was staying with our dear friends Katie & Scott when it snowed. She loved playing in it and romped all over the backyard with her friend, Pip.
We're looking forward to spending New Year's in Houston with Charis' family...and hoping that the snow doesn't get in the way again!
