It's Raining, It's Pouring

by: Charis

It's so appropriate that it's raining and gloomy this week. It wouldn't make sense to be any other way.

People have told me, "Well...it's just so good that the girls have only been with you for 3 months and you're not that attached yet." To which I reply, "How much did you love your daughter when she was 3 months old? Any less than you loved her at 3 years old, 30 years old?"

Did it make it any less tragic that I lost my Mom when I was 14 versus 40? No. Loss is loss. You can't equate it with anyone else's or place it in a hierarchy as it's all unique ....with the commonality of it all being painful.

Pray for us sweet friends, as we face potentially losing our children tomorrow. No parent should ever have to write the goodbye letter I just wrote, or pack up their kids belongings as I'll do tonight. While we are still hoping and praying for God to do a miracle, we are also confronted with the potential reality to come and are being forced to prepare for it. Pray that we will be able to be happy with the kiddos tonight, enjoy them, and be at peace with whatever God decides.

"May the God of HOPE fill (us) with all joy and peace as (we) trust in HIM, so that (we) may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit." Rom 15:13

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth should change and though the mountains slip into the heart of the sea; though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains quake at its swelling pride. Selah. The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our stronghold. Selah. Psalm 46:1-3,7

‘Do not fear, for I am with you; do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’ Isaiah 41:10

For God did not give us a spirit of timidity (of cowardice, of craven and cringing and fawning fear), but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of calm and well-balanced mind and discipline and self-control. 2 Tim 1:7 (AMP)

I have set the Lord continually before me; because He is at my right hand, I shall not be moved. Psalm 16:8 (AMP)

  1. Oh Friend, I am praying for you more than you'll ever know. I can't even imagine what your heart is going through tonight. I pray that God will give you strength as tomorrow comes. Love you, Rachel
