Vacation!

For Memorial Day, we packed up the family and flew 3 hours to North Carolina to visit Duffy's family for a week. Traveling with two kids is definitely an experience. Changing a blow-out diaper in the tiny bathroom of a plane...both the smell and experience will be etched in my memory forever.

We arrived in one piece and had a blast. The girls swam, colored, played, and got to know all their North Carolina family.

We took a day trip to Myrtle Beach and the girls got to see the ocean for the very first time. Karlie was thrilled and kept wanting to go closer to the "big pool", until she got closer...and then she didn't want to have anything to do with it.

By the end of the trip she was running in the water, playing in the sand, and trotting along down the beach. Rylie loved sitting in her bumbo chair and holding the beach umbrella.

They weren't too crazy about the lazy river, but loved putting their toes in the hot tub at the end of the day.

Funny thing happened the other day when I went in to get Karlie out of bed. I walked in the room and said, "WHOAA! What happened?!?" and Karlie stood up, surveyed her bed, put her hands on her hips, looked up at me and said, "Whoaaaa. Poo!"  It was everywhere!

Yesterday I found Karlie sifting through my makeup bag. She had carefully selected the mascara tube, unscrewed it and was applying it to her face. Gotta give her credit - she actually got some on her eyelashes!
Today Karlie put on my high heels and started walking around the living room. Then she started running in them. The toddler was doing a better job walking in heels than she does on her own bare feet. I'm so proud!
